Our last contribution was a friendly gathering at the Hive in which we opened for Paul Lonely and Michael Garfield an event of both word (poetry) and sound (acoustic/experimental), hosted by Malena Gamboa of One Mind Village, with a brief glimpse of Human Inter-modulation Distortion (original sound and image) as well as a slide show presenting integral artists of the LA area.
Paul Lonely is the 'literary genius' of Suicide Dictionary and an integral poet of the future works titled "Semiotic Butterflies". In the beginning of 2008 he traveled to LA from Kentucky, with a welcome party from the integral community, including the (Santa Monica/LA) Integral Matrix. Integral Creatives created a music slide show with Michael Garfield's experimental electronica to support his works and other participating artists, as well as quotes from Paul Lonely's interviews and works, to open for the show. Paul presented excerpts from Suicide Dictionary and a freshly written manifesto called The Kosmic Karma of an Integral Poet. Michael Garfield is a singer/songwriter/integral artist from Boulder and followed touching our hearts with his soulful tones and musical expressions. Todd Guess is an integral artist, who was also able to make an appearance, featured in Ken Wilber's book "Integral Vision" and is working on a collaboration called Suicide Dictionary Illuminations (SDIE) with Paul Lonely. Malena Gamboa is editor of One Mind Village, a non-profit community resource and event coordination for communities interested in spirituality (both 1st and 2nd Tier). One Mind Village contains a great interview with Stuart Davis, the original punk monk of the integral culture and has been featured on Integral Naked.
From the LA area, our other resident integral artists are Matt Demerritt, a world class saxophone player and integral photographer (photomandalas) and Jeff Jessum, psychologist and digital photographic artists of light sculptures.

The iWET after-party was a huge success! Integral Creatives
(integralcreatives.com), in collaboration with Third Eye Gathering (3EG,
thirdeyegathering.com), threw a party for the participants and teaching staff
of the Integral Institute event, “Integral Weekend Experiential Training
Seminar” (iWET) October 2005. The two-day seminar was held at the Bonaventure Hotel in
Downtown L.A., the after-party was held at the Hive Art Gallery, 729 S. Spring
St., also in Downtown L.A. Integral Creatives goals for this event were to
build community between the participants and teaching staff of the Integral
seminars and other Ken Wilber heads, and artists of all backgrounds in the LA
area. We hope to continue to facilitate interaction with those who want to
usher in the Integral Age, providing a space to network and share resources and
talents. We desire to transcend eclecticism, but we must begin where we are;
welcome to postmodern madness, good vibes, and lots of fun!
The iWET participants were very pleased with this event and offered much support and appreciation. We hope that they continue to join us as our events become more organized, bringing together the union of art and theory. Special thanks to Barry and others of 3EG, Nathan of the Hive Art Gallery, the teachers and staff from Integral Institute, Commander Dazzle, Sensei (enlightentainment.com), Matty D. (mattdemerritt.com), Evonne and Brent (amoration.com), Alex (dagaz.com), and everyone who helped promoting and making this event such a wonderful success!
Watch for our next event, coming soon to a mind near you!
